League Volunteers

LEAGUE VOLUNTEERS:

Outside of the (6) elected Board positions, the following are volunteer opportunities at the League Board level. All these positions are appointed by the League President and approved by the Board of Directors.

  • Player Agent
    • Serves on league Board of Directors.
    • Coordinates with Registration Coordinator during registration period.
      • Ensures proper documentation is received at the time of registration.
      • Assists the League President in checking residence and age eligibility.
    • Records all player transactions and maintains an up-to-date record thereof.
    • Conduits the player selection system or draft, when required.
    • Conduits all player transaction meetings (trades), when required.
    • Prepares for the President's signature and submission to Little League Headquarters all team rosters and tournament team eligibility affidavits.
    • Observes all managers and coaches in their handling of the players and handles all player related issues.
    • Notifies League President and the Board of any issues involving players.
    • Liason between Board and players.
    • Attends all League general and Board meetings.
  • Safety Officer
    • Serves on league Board of Directors.
    • Establishes safety policies and procedures that are known, understood and practiced by all players and adults.
    • Prepares SNLL-Little League's ASAP Safety Plan.
    • Provides periodic inspections and maintenance of playing facilities and equipment.
    • Organizes training in first aid to League personnel.
    • Investigates accidents and recommends corrective measures.
    • Attends all League general and Board meetings.
  • Registration Coordinator
    • Serves on league Board of Directors.
      • Coordinates with Player Agent during registration period.
    • Ensures proper documentation is received at the time of registration.
    • Attends all League general and Board meetings.
  • Concession Stand Coordinator
    • Serves on league Board of Directors.
    • Presides over all matters pertaining to the operation of the concession stand.
    • Responsible for coordinating all division concession stand liasons and developing concession stand schedule.
    • Responsible for the accounting of the concession stand and reporting such accounting to the League Treasurer.
    • Responsible for the budgeting of concession stand items and providing such costs to the League Treasurer and League President to include in the League's yearly budget.
    • Responsible for turning in all monies tendered in the concession stand to the League Treasurer for deposit in the League's bank account in a timely fashion.
    • Coordinates with the League President and League Treasurer withdrawls from the League's bank account all monies necessary for the operation of the concession stand.
    • Attends all League general and Board meetings.
  • Division Vice President (1 for each division)
    • Serves on league Board of Directors.
    • Presides over all meetings of managers and coaches pertaining to their division.
    • Prepares division schedule.
    • Reviews and recommends to the Board of Directors all candidates for managers and coaches for approval by the Board.
    • Responsible for the conduct of the managers and coaches in their division and to ensure their conduct is in strict conformity of the policies, principles, rules and regulations of SNLL and Little League Baseball, Inc.
    • Liason between Board and Team Managers.
    • Attends all League general and Board meetings.
  • Umpire-in-Chief
    • Serves on league Board of Directors.
    • Serves as an official at games in which he or she umpires.
    • Calls games in strict adherence to the Little League Playing Rules and local ground rules.
    • Responsible for doing inspections of playing equipment before every game in which he or she umpires.
    • Responsible for informing the Equipment Manager of any problems with umpiring equipment.
    • Prepares volunteer umpiring schedules for each division.
    • Responsible for organizing/teaching yearly umpire training clinic.
    • Liason between Board and Umpires.
    • Responsible for reporting any matters concerning umpires to Board and League President.
    • Attends all League general and Board meetings.
  • Sponsorship Coordinator
    • Serves on league Board of Directors.
    • Serves as Sponsorship Committee Chairperson.
    • Responsible for soliciting local businesses to donate sponsorship money and services to SNLL.
    • Attends all League general and Board meetings
  • Fundraising Chairperson
    • Serves on league Board of Directors.
    • Serves as Fundraising Committee Chairperson.
    • Submits fundraising ideas to the Board of Directors for their approval.
    • Participates in distribution and collection of fund raising materials.
    • Attends all League general and Board meetings
  • Field/Maintenance Coordinator
    • Serves on league Board of Directors.
    • Attends to the improvement and maintenance of all SNLL fields and buildings.
    • Prepares field day work plans, schedules and coordinates manpower.
    • Responsible for inspections and maintenance of power equipment and handtools used for for preparing and maintaining SNLL field and buildings.
    • Responsible for the budgeting of field maintenance items and providing such costs to the League Treasurer and League President to include in the League's yearly budget.
    • Coordinates with the League President and League Treasurer withdrawls from the League's bank account all monies necessary for the safe operation of SNLL fields and field equipment.
    • Attends all League general and Board meetings
  • Equipment Manager
    • Serves on league Board of Directors.
    • Maintains all SNLL playing equipment with strict adherence to safety.
    • Responsible for the acquisition of all team supplies.
    • Responsible for the budgeting of playing equipment and providing such costs to the League Treasurer and League President to include in the League's yearly budget.
      • baseballs.
      • bats, where applicable.
      • batting helmets.
      • catcher's gear.
      • umpire gear.
      • uniforms (shirts, pants, hats).
    • Coordinates with the League President and League Treasurer withdrawals from the League's bank account all monies necessary for the purchase of playing equipment.Attends all League general and Board meetings
